Anytime you’re choosing a grain, ideally, we would like to choose whole grain. For example, choosing brown rice over white rice, whole wheat bread over white bread, or corn or whole wheat flour tortillas over flour tortillas. Quinoa is a good choice for whole grain.
It’s important when choosing whole grains that you are reading the nutrition label and making sure that it will say 100% whole grain or whole wheat on the package. Whole wheat or whole grain should be the first ingredient when looking at any grain product.
