If you’ve ever tried to lose weight, you have probably relied on your bathroom scale to determine how successful your efforts are. Have you ever felt like you have been doing a great job of making changes to your diet and exercise only to get on the scale to see no progress at all? Or even worse, to see weight gain! Well, you are not alone. And chances are that your scale has been misleading you.
The Benefits of Advanced Body Composition
Advanced body composition breaks down the body into its core components: fat, protein, minerals, and water. It describes your weight more accurately and provides a better glimpse into your overall health than traditional methods. Body composition analysis can accurately show changes in fat mass, muscle mass, and body fat percentage.
What to Know
Technology: InBody 270
Test Time: The tests take about 15 seconds to measure fat mass, muscle mass, and body water levels.
Accuracy: InBody does not utilize empirical estimations in its measurements. The results are accurate and you receive a full report.
Why is Body Composition Important to Measure?
What does your weight really represent? When you step on a scale, you can’t see how much muscle or fat you have. All you see is how much you weigh.
When thinking about diet and fitness we tend to focus on the amount of weight that we want to lose or gain. What we – and our bathroom scales – fail to consider is that the composition of your body is a better indicator of health than just weight alone. Body composition describes the amount of fat, bone, water, and muscle in the body. Measuring your body composition will tell you your own body’s unique makeup and help you identify areas to work on to improve your overall health and wellness.
How Body Composition Analysis Works
Go beyond the scale with the InBody 270 Test, a non-invasive body composition analysis that provides a detailed breakdown of your weight in terms of muscle, fat, and water. An InBody Test is non-invasive and only takes 15-30 seconds.
During a test a very low, safe electrical signal is sent from eight metal electrodes through your legs, arms and abdomen. The electrical signal passes quickly through water that is present in hydrated muscle tissue but meets resistance when it hits fat tissue. This resistance, known as impedance, is measured and input into scientifically validated equations to calculate body composition measurements.
Take Control of Your Health With Body Composition Analysis
The InBody 270 accurately measures your body composition in less than 15 seconds. The results of the analysis list out your body composition components, tracking progress over time. This device will show you your key components like:
- Skeletal Muscle Mass
- Percent Body Fat
- Body Fat Mass
- Basal Metabolic Rate and more!
Every 4-6 weeks, body composition can be measured to monitor the progress you have made through diet and lifestyle changes.
